Weigela

'Variegated'

 

A Weigela is a thick, spreading, rounded shrub with perfect, funnel-like flowers.  The 1 1/2" long flowers are paler on the inside with beautifully bright colors on the outer flower making this a standout plant.  Trimming after flowering may be necessary to maintain the shape of the Weigela.  The 'Variegated' Weigela is compact and has numerous deep rose flowers over variegated leaves edged in pale yellow or creamy white. 

 

Bloom Time:  Beginning May for 1-2 months.

Growth Habit:  Compact, 4' in height, 6' in width.

Foliage:  Pale Yellow/Creamy White and Green Variegation.

Sun/Shade:  Sun.

Hardiness Zones:  5-9.
