Weigela

'Red Prince'

A Weigela is a thick, spreading, rounded shrub with perfect, funnel-like flowers.  The 1 1/2" long flowers are paler on the inside with beautifully bright colors on the outer flower making this a standout plant.  Trimming after flowering may be necessary to maintain the shape of the Weigela.  The 'Red Prince' has numerous fade-resistant red flowers and has a tendency to re-bloom in late summer. 

Bloom Time:  Beginning May for 1-2 months.

Growth Habit:  Thick, Spreading, Rounded, 6' in height, 6' in width.

Foliage:  Green.

Sun/Shade:  Sun.

Hardiness Zones:  4-9.
