-vulgaris (Common Purple Lilac)

 

The Common Purple Lilac is an upright, leggy shrub with dark bluish-green foliage.  The very fragrant, lilac purple flowers are grouped in 4-8" long panicles, usually in pairs from the terminal buds, in early to mid-May.

 

Bloom Time:  Early to Mid May.

Growth Habit:  Upright, 8-15' in height, 6-12' in width.

Foliage:  Dark, Bluish-green.

Sun/Shade:  Sun.

Hardiness Zones:  3-7.
